Haibike SDURO Trekking 3.5 2019 Trapeze Electric Trekking Bike
Planning a longer ride or to ride every day? With its Bosch Performance Cruise motor the Haibike SDURO Trekking 3.5 Trapeze (Lower Crossbar) Electric Hybrid Bike will go the extra mile on its 500 watt hour battery. With its panniers, integrated lights and full mudguards it is a machine that is good for everything the Great British climate and lighting conditions can throw at you.
SDURO vs XDURO
In recent years Haibike have decided to make it easy for the rider to choose between its lines of electric bikes. The XDURO series is for people who take riding seriously and won’t want to be left out in the rankings. Meanwhile the SDURO series is for those who may still be fit as a fiddle but are more weekend mud warriors than people who eat, sleep and breathe riding.
Trekking
Ranging from high quality hybrid road bikes to the more cross-country end of the electric hybrid and trekking end of the spectrum, the Haibike Trekking series is for those who want to carry a bit more with them on their journeys and may wish to travel in low light conditions.
3.0 vs 3.5
The Trekking 3.5 has the Bosch Performance Cruise motor while the 3.0 has the slightly more torquey Performance CX. The Trekking 3.5 also has different forks and uprated brakes against the 3.0
Who’s this for?
Whether for utility riding instead of using the car or the sheer pleasure of riding on a high quality electric bike this is something to really consider. If you’re planning on using an e-bike to commute, using it for errands around town or even planning a longer distance tour by electric hybrid bike, you won’t go far wrong riding this one!
The details…
This a machine that likes being used instead of your car. Its economical Bosch Performance Cruise motor has a lightly lower output when you put the pedal down but this returns in economy on the battery. Plumbed into the battery is a powerful, Busch & Mu¨ller Avy, 40 lux headlight that will show you the way even on an overcast countryside night.
The SDURO Trekking 3.5 Women’s hybrid electric bike has a 9-speed Shimano Alivio M4000 gearing system and drivetrain. For slowing down and stopping you have the Magura CMe 5 ABS hydraulic disc brakes that are on 180mm rotors on the front and rear.
The shocks on the fork are 60mm travel SR Suntour Mobie 45 LOR with a lockout for different terrains. Helping smooth out the bumps are Schwalbe Road Cruiser tyres on 28 inch wheels.
This women’s hybrid bike also has panniers for carrying your gear – be it shopping, your briefcase or a sleeping bag and spare clothes…
Intuvia display
Built for those who don’t want to worry about every single parameter of their ride this simple, clear LCD display tells you just the basics for your ride. Battery capacity and estimated battery distance, speed and power setting are all in one spot for you to see with a quick glance.
Bosch Performance Cruise motor
With 63Nm of torque available when you pull away this will get you off at the lights nice and quickly. Economical yet powerful, it measures your cadence up to 1000 times a second to provide optimum power for your ride. It stops briefly while you change gear so there is less strain on the drivetrain.
500Wh Battery
Your 500 watt-hour battery will give you a good 50 miles of mixed terrain riding – a lot more if you put more into the pedals and ask less of the motor! Batteries are easily swapped out using a special key so for a big day in the saddle you might want to carry another. They can be charged in just 2 hours using the supplied fast charger.
