What the Haibike Electric Bike Terms Mean?
New features on the 2018 Haibike range
The Haibike sDuro HardSeven 1.0 is the entry level crank drive bike of the Haibike MTB range. Its Suntour sprung fork, Shimano Altus 9 speed gearing system and Yamaha LED control system will make for a great ride that is a league apart from traditional mountain bike riding.
This machine comes with an XLC sport lock on the handlebars for comfortable grip even on longer rides, and a Selle Italia saddle will keep you from being bruised and uncomfortable after many miles on an extended trip.
One of the key things you will notice that’s different to a traditional bike is the small Yamaha LED control system on the left handlebar. This has three settings – eco, standard and high – that can be easily changed with your thumb as you tackle different terrains.
Stopping power is as important as starting power! To that extent, this machine has Tektro hydraulic brakes and 180mm rotors, that are connected to the power system to force the motor to cut out as soon as you touch your brakes.
The Haibike sDuro HardSeven 1.0 also comes with Rodi Black Rock double rim wheels that have a quick release system.
Motor and battery – Yamaha PW Electric Bike System
The Yamaha PW e-bike system makes the Haibike sDuro range stand apart from its rivals. The very torquey 250 watt motor provides up to 280% assistance as soon as you push the pedal, enabling a fast take off or when you switch up a power assist level, as soon as you press the button.
The handlebar mounted control enables you to switch between three assist modes at the touch of a button, as well as a number of other features including speedometer, range meter and battery capacity.
The light but powerful 400Wh battery will give you a full day’s ride of between 30-80 miles dependant on weight of user, terrain and mode of pedal assistance used but can be charged in just hours for those times when you can be in the saddle, day in, day out to your heart’s content.
