New for 2018, this is great for off-road adventures yet a comfortable road bike for those routes that take on road and off road as part of the trip.

The DiamondBack LUX 27.5 HT Electric Mountain Bike is built around the 250W Bosch CX crank motor that responds quickly to your push on the crank, while the 400 Watt hour battery will get you a good 60-80 miles of conservative riding and even more in eco mode up to 108 miles.

You will not always go easy on the trails on this electric mountain bike, and its 10 speed Shimano Deore gear system on a 11-42t rear cassette will give you the range to go hard on the flat or downhill while getting up those monster hills without breaking too much of a sweat. On the 42 tooth rear cog you can go easy on that battery!

100mm travel, Suntour XCR front forks have a lockout so you can go between a softer ride for the lumpy sections and a harder ride for those climbs. For speed control you have Shimano M315 hydraulic brakes mounted onto 180mm rotors front and rear for good braking even in the wet or after a hard downhill section.

The wheels have DB Alloy hubs connected to Diamondback rims and MAXXIS IKON 27.5×2.20 tyres. While reasonably wide (and good for the sticky stuff) they have a low rolling resistance in the middle for harder substrates such as cinder and tarmac. 27.5” wheels are relatively new in electric mountain bikes but have become the firm favourite among riders across the board over their smaller and larger rivals.

All in, the DiamondBack LUX 27.5 HT Electric Bike in its lairy yellow colour scheme will get you noticed in the crowd but its kit will enable you to ride comfortably in the pack.

Bosch CX and Purion eBike power system

The 250 Watt Bosch CX crank motor peaks at 75Nm, kicking like a mule when you need that extra boost. The 400Wh battery on the lowest eco power setting can give you up to 108 miles of conservative riding as you need. The Bosch CX motor is complemented by the Purion control and power system that is smaller yet provides just a few parameters for a quick look as you enjoy your day in the saddle.
