Haibike SDURO Trekking 7.0 2019 Mens Electric Trekking Bike
Whether you’re getting into serious trekking that involves longer stretches of off-road, want a nice XC bike that you can use on the road as well or a commuter who wants that little extra presence on the road to work, the Haibike SDURO Trekking 7.0 Mens Electric Trekking Bike could well be the one for you.
SDURO vs XDURO
In recent years Haibike have decided to make it easy for the rider to choose between its lines of electric bikes. The XDURO series is for people who take riding seriously and won’t want to be left out in the rankings. Meanwhile the SDURO series is for those who may still be fit as a fiddle but are more weekend mud warriors than people who eat, sleep and breathe riding.
Trekking
Ranging from high quality hybrid road bikes to the more cross-country end of the electric hybrid and trekking end of the spectrum, the Haibike Trekking series is for those who want to carry a bit more with them on their journeys and may wish to travel in low light conditions.
Who’s this for?
Do you love longer distance, multi day rides where roads aren’t the only section of your route? Do you want a bike that is happy even on tougher country tracks yet won’t be too slow on your rides around town? Do you want an electric trekking bike that has a bit more presence on the road that aggy white van drivers are more likely to notice? These and many other reasons could lead you to this great all rounder machine.
More detail please!
Our Haibike SDURO Trekking 7.0 Mens electric trekking bike sits closer to the XC end of the line of Haibike Trekking bikes. The first thing you see is the wider, off-road oriented Schwalbe Super Moto X tyres on 27.5 inch wheels that have a higher profile yet on smaller wheels than the next Trekking bike down.
The machine has an 11 speed Shimano SLX M7000 drivetrain that uses an 11-46 tooth cassette. This means even the most daunting inclines are doable and much, much flatter than they might have been for the rider. Mounted on 160mm rotors, the Shimano MT400, aluminium disc brakes are ample for most journeys on this powerful trekking machine.
Important for the trekker and commuter alike is the full mudguards, strong rear pannier and the Haibike Skybeamer 150 front headlight that is plumbed into the main battery with a bright rear LED light.
Intuvia display
Built for those who don’t want to worry about every single parameter of their ride this simple, clear LCD display tells you just the basics for your ride. Battery capacity and estimated battery distance, speed and power setting are all in one spot for you to see with a quick glance.
500 watt hour battery, Bosch Performance CX motor
Your 500 watt-hour battery will give you a good 50 miles of mixed terrain riding – a lot more if you put more into the pedals and ask less of the motor! Batteries are easily swapped out using a special key so for a big day in the saddle you might want to carry another. They can be charged in just 2 hours using the supplied fast charger.
The 250W Bosch ePerformance CX is built with the trails in mind. It gives a little extra power at lower cadences for when you need that extra kick to get up to speed, while cutting out briefly during a gear change to protect the chain as you need to kick a little harder on those climbs. With a peak output of 75Nm of torque (up to 300% the wattage you put into the pedals) you can really shift when you need to, too!
