The Haibike SDURO Trekking 1.0 Low Standover Hybrid Electric Bike is built primarily for road use yet won’t worry too much on bike paths / easier forest tracks and railway / towpaths. A great entry level LSO (low stand-over) electric hybrid bike, it has panniers, mudguards and a lighting system powered by the main battery so you can ride day and night with a bit of cargo.

SDURO vs XDURO

In recent years Haibike have decided to make it easy for the rider to choose between its lines of electric bikes. The XDURO series is for people who take riding seriously and won’t want to be left out in the rankings. Meanwhile the SDURO series is for those who may still be fit as a fiddle but are more weekend mud warriors than people who eat, sleep and breathe riding.

Essential details

The SDURO Trekking 1.0 Low standover hybrid bike has 28 inch road wheels that will still handle lighter paths. It has an eight speed Shimano Acera M360 gearing and drivetrain that should give you all the ratios you need, even in one of our hillier towns and cities.

Braking and slowing is with Tektro T275 disc brakes that work on a 180mm front rotor and a 160mm rear rotor. Most braking force is on the front wheel so it pays to have a bigger surface for the brakes to grab onto.

For evening and early morning riding this electric hybrid bike has front and rear lights that are plumbed into the main battery so you will see and be seen as long as you have charge. It comes with full front and rear mudguards as well as a study pannier rack that altogether make this a fantastic utility and commuting machine that can also be used for fun with the family. 

Intuvia display

Built for those who don’t want to worry about every single parameter of their ride this simple, clear LCD display tells you just the basics for your ride. Battery capacity and estimated battery distance, speed and power setting are all in one spot for you to see with a quick glance.

Bosch Active Line Plus motor

Taking up to 1,000 measurements a second from your pedalling, this 250 watt motor gives back just as much power when you need it. Light yet agile, it gives great torque in a smooth yet controlled manner. The Bosch Active Line Plus also pauses briefly as you change gear so your drivetrain isn’t overly stressed. Topping out at 25km/h it provides all the kick you need in normal riding.

400Wh battery

The hot-swappable 400 watt-hour battery will serve you well over 30-40 miles of mixed riding – more if you stay in Eco setting or switch it off! Chargeable in just 2 hours, it is easily switched with another one should you feel the need to go farther.
