Haibike XDURO Nduro 2.0 2019 Mens Electric Mountain Bike
The entry level Haibike electric enduro bike, this Haibike XDURO Nduro 2.0 will help you take the downhills to the max but make the climbs between an absolute breeze. Whether as a training aid for traditional MTB enduro riders, or as a competition machine for the emerging electric enduro circuit, you will have a grin on your face as you fly down single track and then fly back up to the next stage!
SDURO vs XDURO
In recent years Haibike have decided to make it easy for the rider to choose between its lines of electric bikes. The XDURO series is for people who take riding seriously and won’t want to be left out in the rankings. Meanwhile the SDURO series is for those who may still be fit as a fiddle but are more weekend mud warriors than people who eat, sleep and breathe riding.
Haibike NDURO
Haibike’s enduro riding MTB series of electric bikes is designed to put a grin on your face during the climbs between stages and absolutely scream down the hills and mountainsides on those stretches. For those considering getting into the emerging electric enduro competition scene, Haibike have delivered a serious player.
Who are you?
You’ve got the MTB bug – a given there. You may have been into analogue enduro riding for a while and want to take the leap into the relatively new sport of electric enduro. You may still ride analogue enduro but want a training aid to help defeat those hills and to maintain a faster speed on downhill to deal with various skills that are required at speed.
The details…
On a hydroformed, gravity cast 6061 aluminium frame, the 180mm travel RockShox Yari RC air front shocks with lockout will take a beating on those descents. These are supported with the rear RockShox Super Deluxe RC3 air damper.
The Haibike XDURO Nduro 2.0 electric enduro bike is driven with a Yamaha PW-X motor and a 500 watt hour battery. This connects to the rear wheel through an 11-speed Sram NX drivetrain on a 11-42t cassette that should make short work of those descents yet allow you to travel at warp speed downhill.
On a monster 203mm front rotor and 180mm rear rotor, the Tektro Orion M735, hydraulic brakes give ample speed control as you need it. Speaking of control, this machine has 780mm handlebars to adjust your direction of travel neatly even at speed.
On double walled Rodi Tryp 35 rims the 27.5” wheels have Maxxis Minion DHF tyre on the front wheel and a DHR II tyre on the rear.
Yamaha PW-X motor
This is Yamaha’s performance range of motor. At a mere 3.1kg it is one of the lightest power systems on the market yet can still punch out 80Nm of torque. Despite this huge punch it delivers power smoothly so you won’t spin out / wheelie unless you want to, yet responds to your pedalling almost instantly! Built to take up to 120 RPM of cadence it is designed with the serious rider in mind.
400Wh battery and Side Switch display
This bike comes with a Yamaha 500 watt hour battery that is ample for longer length rides where you’re not embarrassed to ask for the odd push of full power as you get about. Rechargeable in just a few hours, you can plug it in in the evening and have a full battery for your next day in the saddle.
The Yamaha Side Switch display is an LCD screen that shows all your parameters in one place so with just a quick glance you can see just what you want, be it battery life, power setting, speed or distance travelled. You control the power output of the motor with a flick of a switch from your right thumb.
