Aluminium not carbon

Sometimes carbon isn’t all where it’s at with bikes. This is reflected in Haibike’s use of aluminium for the frame, that also has an in-tube 500Wh battery for great weight distribution and geometry. All in, this weighs in at a relatively featherweight 24.6kg.

You need a great shock and fork for serious DH and Enduro riding – this is amply provided for in the 180mm travel SR Suntour Durolux R2C forks that can be adjusted for the terrain you need at the flick of a switch. At the rear you have the RockShox Super Deluxe RC3 which also has up to 180mm of travel and can be switched between presets simply and quickly.

For switching between downhill and single track, the RockShox Reverb telescopic seat post can be switched between heights quickly and easily from the handlebars.

You may need a level of fitness to ride the XDURO NDURO 11.0 2018 as it has an eight speed Sram XG899, 11-48 tooth cassette controlled by Sram EX1 shifters for accurate and fast gear changes.

Speed control is achieved with the Magura MT7 hydraulic disc brakes and a beefy 203mm rotor up front and a 180mm rotor at the rear.

The 27.5” x 2.40 tyres are Kenda Honey Badger DH Pro DTC that won’t let you down on slippery substrate, and these are on DT Swiss FR1950 wheel sets.

Bosch CX and Purion eBike power system

The 250 Watt Bosch CX crank motor peaks at 75Nm, kicking like a mule when you need that extra boost. The 500Wh battery on the lowest power setting should give you around 50 miles of conservative riding as you need. The Bosch CX motor is complemented by the Purion control and power system that is smaller yet provides just a few parameters for a quick look as you enjoy your day in the saddle.
