Haibike XDURO HARDNINE 6.0 Electric Mountain Bike
If you’re after a mountain bike that will handle the trails well yet stands out from the crowd on a commute this is the machine for you! The 29” wheels will roll beautifully cross country as this is a bike that leans toward off-road yet it will happily get you to work every day should you ask it to, albeit in its lairy colour scheme.
HARDNINE Features
The chief difference between the HARDNINE and the HARDSEVEN is in the larger, narrower wheels on the XDURO HARDNINE 6.0 bike. This makes it more agile on the trails than its brother, and this is added to with its 180mm disc brake rotors for better stopping. The brakes themselves are the Magura MT4 hydraulic system, connected to a motor cutout for safe, sharp speed control as you need.
Schwalbe Nobby Nic, 2.6” tyres are wider but have lower rolling resistance, which on the 29” wheels will serve you well on easier trails but on road on your commute as well.
It has an 11 speed Sram NX system with 11 tooth pulley wheels on an 11-42 cassette, giving a great set of ratios between climbs and descents. On the front is a lightweight 740mm handlebar set for better control, complete with XLC sport lock on grips.
250W Bosch crank motor system
On this rude commuter / trail bike you will be driven with the 250W Bosch CX Performance motor that whacks out up to 75Nm of torque when you want it, peaking at 500W. While limited to 15mph this does mean that you can get up to the top of a beastly hill with a lot less bother and accelerate out of trouble on busy roads just when you need to. On Turbo mode you have 300% of assistance, meaning that for every Watt you put into the crank you get three out.
Depending on how much assistance you want (or time on the road) there are four power assistance levels to choose from, including the gradient flattening Turbo mode and the more taxing but economical Eco mode.
You have a 500Wh Bosch battery to give you enough power to enjoy a good day out or a longer commute every day. Power and output are controlled through the Intuvia control system and display that shows a range of parameters from how much battery is left to your speed, average speed and distance travelled.
If you like a good blast in the country but aren’t a complete trail nut, and may want a bike that will be comfortable on a daily commute in a lairy blue / green colour scheme then you won’t do far wrong on the Haibike XDURO HARDNINE 6.0 Electric Mountain Bike!
