Fat is where it’s at!

Mountain bikes have long been good at a lot of things but as soon as you hit soft mud, dry sand or snow you could travel no further. Enter the fat tyre – with its huge 4” tyre surface area you float over even the gloopiest unforgiving substrate that would leave your fellows stuck in the mud. Don’t fear the road either – the centre of the tyre will blast along hard surfaces without too much added friction slowing you down.

All sorts of things need to be built around those Schwalbe Jumbo Jim tyres! Haibike have built their own wheels for this machine, including Alex 'Blizzerk' Pro drilled rims on sealed Haibike hubs. The 100mm travel RockShox Bluto forks are designed with fat in mind, yet can be remotely adjusted between presets as you go from downhill to flat or uphill legs.   

Being a genuinely all terrain bike it has a Sram GX 11,11 speed, 11-46t cassette that provides some of the greatest ratio difference on any electric mountain bike.  That’s for the go – stopping is ably helped with the twin piston Maguro MT5 hydraulic disc brake on the front and MT4 on the rear. While not something you will always be going quick, quick on you will need good speed control on more difficult descents – after all this bike is about going where no other e-MTB can handle.

Bosch CX and Purion eBike power system

The 250 Watt Bosch CX crank motor peaks at 75Nm, kicking like a mule when you need that extra boost. The 500Wh battery on the lowest power setting should give you around 50 miles of conservative riding as you need. The Bosch CX motor is complemented by the Purion control and power system that is smaller yet provides just a few parameters for a quick look as you enjoy your day in the saddle.
