Haibike XDURO Dwnhll 9.0 2019 Mens Electric Mountain Bike
The Bosch entry level Haibike DWNHLL machine, this Haibike XDURO Dwnhll 9.0 is nevertheless a monster downhill electric mountain bike that has the toughness to handle going over jumps and rough terrain at high speeds yet is light enough and agile enough to change direction with great agility. Whether as a training aid or as your main machine, you will get to the bottom intact and with a grin on your face.
SDURO vs XDURO
In recent years Haibike have decided to make it easy for the rider to choose between its lines of electric bikes. The XDURO series is for people who take riding seriously and won’t want to be left out in the rankings. Meanwhile the SDURO series is for those who may still be fit as a fiddle but are more weekend mud warriors than people who eat, sleep and breathe riding.
Haibike Dwnhll
Well specced and durable, the DWNHLL range of electric mountain bikes are all about getting down that track in a competitive time and completely intact in (almost) whatever the circumstances. Heavier than the NDURO series of electric mountain bikes, these machines are built like tanks with only one direction in mind – downhill and FAST!
Who’s this for?
A serious downhill monster, the XDURO DWNHLL 9.0 is ideal for someone starting to take downhill racing seriously. You may have this as a training aid so you don’t knacker yourself on the climbs, have this as your n+1 bike, or even be someone who enjoys the thrill of blasting down the track yet struggles to get back to the top without a Bosch Performance CX giving you a push as you go.
More detail…
The front suspension on the Haibike XDURO Dwnhll 9.0 is a 200mm travel FOX 40 Float Factory that will chew up the lumps, bumps and landings like a pro. The rear, 200mm travel FOX Float X2 Factory matches the front shocks.
For your different ride positions on the track, this eMTB has a 31.6mm Kind Shock LEV-DX, telescoping seat post.
With help from the Bosch Performance CX motor, the 11-speed Shimano XTR M9000 drivetrain has a great range of ratios and runs over an 11-42t Shimano SLX M7000 rear sprocket.
Stopping power is with the Shimano ZEE M640 hydraulic disc brakes on beefy 203mm front and rear rotors.
The 27.5” DT Swiss FR1950 wheel set has Schwalbe Magic Mary tyres on the front and rear.
With a 780mm wide handlebar set, you can control your direction quickly and accurately.
500 watt hour battery, Bosch Performance CX and Purion display.
Your 500 watt-hour battery will give you a good 50 miles of mixed terrain riding – a lot more if you put more into the pedals and ask less of the motor! Batteries are easily swapped out using a special key so for a big day in the saddle you might want to carry another. They can be charged in just 2 hours using the supplied fast charger.
The 250W Bosch ePerformance CX is built with the trails in mind. It gives a little extra power at lower cadences for when you need that extra kick to get up to speed, while cutting out briefly during a gear change to protect the chain as you need to kick a little harder on those climbs. With a peak output of 75Nm of torque (up to 300% the wattage you put into the pedals) you can really shift when you need to, too!
This is controlled through the Bosch Purion control system. This gives a range of data to you the rider, from estimated battery on a given power setting to distance left on that setting, as well as speed and distance covered. It really is all you need for a fun day out in the hills! With power just a click of the left thumb and the other data available with an easy to use thumb-joystick you can focus on riding not faffing about with the system!
