The Schwalbe Super Moto tyres are designed for a mix of off-road and road rides, allowing for good grip on looser surfaces and low rolling resistance on road.

One of the major upgrades to this edition of this bike has been the Shimano 2017 XT 11 speed drivetrain. Ranging from 11 teeth on the fastest cog to 42 teeth on the biggest, you have a good set of ratios to get you up that big hill or blast down that descent! Gearing is controlled by the Shimano SLX rapid fire gear selector that provides very quick, accurate gear changes as you move through the gears.

The 250W Bosch CX Performance crank drive motor is the bit that makes your journey fast, comfortable and as taxing or otherwise as you could want. It can fire out 70Nm of torque, meaning a quick start at the traffic lights or to get up that beast of a hill.

To control the motor you have the Intuvia control system that offers four levels of assistance – or can be switched off if you are husbanding energy to get where you want to go on a longer run. The computer can tell you how far you have travelled, how much battery is left as well as your average and current speed among other intuitively operated functions.

The battery? 500Wh is the biggest battery Bosch makes so you won’t be left high and dry on a longer commute or cross country ride.

Other features

The front fork has a lockout so you can maximise efficiency on road and move to a stiffer frame for road riding. Another well considered element is that this machine has eyes on the rear of the frame to fit a rear pannier rack should you need to take things to work, or even for that riding holiday you’ve had in mind for a while.
