Haibike XDURO AllMtn 7.0 2018 Electric Mountain Bike
A step up from the XDURO AllMtn 6.0 and definitely not for commuting on any road! For the Blue and Red route rider you will not be disappointed.
Haibike have built this as a serious all terrain e-MTB that won’t shy from a downhill race. Unlike its 6.0 cousin this is not a machine that will be happy on the road, and at roughly £500 more than its cousin is something you really should consider if you love downhill / trail riding yet like to get back to the top in less of a ball of sweat.
Let’s look at some of the specs. The 500Wh battery is stored in the frame with the Haibike Modular Rail System – in theory for those longer days you can attach two batteries on the frame for an extra 5 hours or more in the saddle. Most will only need one battery and delight in the balance and geometry that the in-tube battery affords.
The Haibike S.E.S. (Sprocket Equalising System) keeps the chain aligned at every angle it is to the front sprocket, even while the rear shock is fully depressed. The front shocks are 150mm travel 2017 RockShox Yari RC that like the rear RockShox Deluxe can be adjusted according to your weight. Both front and rear have presets for flatter and lumpy terrain. For fast downhilling you have four piston, Slate T4 brakes on 203mm discs at the front and 180mm to the rear. Another great consideration for XC and downhill riding are the 2.8" Maxxis Minion DHR and DHR front and rear specific tyres.
Unlike its lower specc’ed brother the Haibike XDURO AllMtn 7.0 2018 electric mountain bike has a Bosch motor and battery system. Let’s look at this now.
Bosch CX and Purion eBike power system
The 250 Watt Bosch CX crank motor peaks at 75Nm, kicking like a mule when you need that extra boost. The 500Wh battery on the lowest power setting should give you around 60-80 miles of conservative riding as you need. The Bosch CX motor is complemented by the Purion control and power system that is smaller yet provides just a few parameters for a quick look as you enjoy your day in the saddle.
