Haibike SDURO Trekking 9.0 2019 Mens Electric Trekking Bike
The top spec bike in the Haibike Trekking range, this Haibike SDURO Trekking 9.0 Mens Electric Trekking Bike will storm over the toughest mountain tracks and yet chew up the road miles as you like. Built for all conditions from winter filth and darkness to sunshine and hard surfaces, this is an electric trekking bike that worries about very little in its way.
SDURO vs XDURO
In recent years Haibike have decided to make it easy for the rider to choose between its lines of electric bikes. The XDURO series is for people who take riding seriously and won’t want to be left out in the rankings. Meanwhile the SDURO series is for those who may still be fit as a fiddle but are more weekend mud warriors than people who eat, sleep and breathe riding.
Trekking
Ranging from high quality hybrid road bikes to the more cross-country end of the electric hybrid and trekking end of the spectrum, the Haibike Trekking series is for those who want to carry a bit more with them on their journeys and may wish to travel in low light conditions.
Who’s this for?
You could be a serious trekker with plans to tackle the wilds of the Highlands or the Alps this coming summer, or simply a guy who wants a meatier bike for his daily commute to work who also enjoys blasting out in the hills at the weekend. You may be someone returning to riding who wants something with more presence on the roads, that will also show you some of the countryside locally you can’t access by road. For longer rides that may include darkness, this has the gear as it has for slippery, sludgy tracks.
The details…
With Schwalbe Super Moto X tyres mounted on 27.5” wheels this is a trekking bike with XC pedigree. At the forks it has 80mm travel SR Suntour Mobie E45 LOR shocks with a lockout for different terrains.
The Haibike SDURO Trekking 9.0 Mens has an eleven speed, Shimano Deore XT M8000 drivetrain that uses a cassette with 11 teeth to a monster 46 tooth granny gear for those big climbs that would have scared you off your machine before buying an e-bike. Stopping power comes from Magura MT4 hydraulic disc brakes that use 180mm rotors front and rear – ample even for faster, longer descents.
What takes this machine away from the world of XC into Trekking is the panniers, full mudguards and integrated lights. The headlight is a Haibike Skybeamer 300, with 100 lux of brightness so you can navigate in even the darkest of country darkness.
Intuvia display
Built for those who don’t want to worry about every single parameter of their ride this simple, clear LCD display tells you just the basics for your ride. Battery capacity and estimated battery distance, speed and power setting are all in one spot for you to see with a quick glance.
500 watt hour battery, Bosch Performance CX motor.
Your 500 watt-hour battery will give you a good 50 miles of mixed terrain riding – a lot more if you put more into the pedals and ask less of the motor! Batteries are easily swapped out using a special key so for a big day in the saddle you might want to carry another. They can be charged in just 2 hours using the supplied fast charger.
The 250W Bosch ePerformance CX is built with the trails in mind. It gives a little extra power at lower cadences for when you need that extra kick to get up to speed, while cutting out briefly during a gear change to protect the chain as you need to kick a little harder on those climbs. With a peak output of 75Nm of torque (up to 300% the wattage you put into the pedals) you can really shift when you need to, too!
