Haibike SDURO Trekking 9.0 2019 Ladies Electric Trekking Bike
A machine that will take almost anything the British climate and road / track conditions can throw at it, the Haibike SDURO Trekking 9.0 Women’s Electric Trekking Bike has real presence on the road but will munch up cross country sections. With full mudguards, a pannier rack and integrated lighting you can be assured it will get you there – whenever and wherever that might be.
SDURO vs XDURO
In recent years Haibike have decided to make it easy for the rider to choose between its lines of electric bikes. The XDURO series is for people who take riding seriously and won’t want to be left out in the rankings. Meanwhile the SDURO series is for those who may still be fit as a fiddle but are more weekend mud warriors than people who eat, sleep and breathe riding.
Trekking
Ranging from high quality hybrid road bikes to the more cross-country end of the electric hybrid and trekking end of the spectrum, the Haibike Trekking series is for those who want to carry a bit more with them on their journeys and may wish to travel in low light conditions.
Who’s this for?
You may want to be seen a bit better on the road with this electric bike’s mountain bike tyres a bigger view than a road bike – this will help with road confidence. You may be a serious cycle trekker with plans for a big cycling holiday (on and off-road) this coming year. You may be a commuter who wants to carry gear to the office every day or a returner to cycling who wants a bit of a beast to help you with confidence. At the end of the day, e-bike riding is fun so you may just want this machine for the fun of riding alone, with friends or family!
More detail on the bike
With its full front and rear mudguards this is a machine that is great for road riding. For evenings and mornings (and some very grey skies) it has integrated lights on the rear and a Haibike Skybeamer 300, 100 lux headlight on the front that are both wired into the main battery.
For presence on the road you will certainly be noticed with the SDURO Trekking 9.0 Women’s electric trekking bike’s fat Schwalbe Super Moto X tyres on 27.5 inch wheels that will chew up hard and soft surfaces alike.
For the pedal drivetrain you have an eleven speed Shimano Deore XT M8000 that with the 11-46t cassette will flatten out all but the nastiest mountains. Stopping is with the Magura MT4 hydraulic disc brakes that use 180mm rotors – more than ample for descending almost any mountain.
Intuvia display
Built for those who don’t want to worry about every single parameter of their ride this simple, clear LCD display tells you just the basics for your ride. Battery capacity and estimated battery distance, speed and power setting are all in one spot for you to see with a quick glance.
500 watt hour battery, Bosch Performance CX motor
Your 500 watt-hour battery will give you a good 50 miles of mixed terrain riding – a lot more if you put more into the pedals and ask less of the motor! Batteries are easily swapped out using a special key so for a big day in the saddle you might want to carry another. They can be charged in just 2 hours using the supplied fast charger.
The 250W Bosch ePerformance CX is built with the trails in mind. It gives a little extra power at lower cadences for when you need that extra kick to get up to speed, while cutting out briefly during a gear change to protect the chain as you need to kick a little harder on those climbs. With a peak output of 75Nm of torque (up to 300% the wattage you put into the pedals) you can really shift when you need to, too!
