Haibike SDURO Trekking 9.0 2018 Mens Electric Trekking Bike
For the rider who likes venturing both off and on road over longer distances, the Haibike SDURO Trekking 9.0 2018 Mens Electric Trekking Bike could well be the best answer.
New for 2018 – the Haibike Modular Rail System
Want an extra battery? How about a through frame locking system? Extra water capacity? These can be fitted to the frame through the Haibike Modular Rail System. This quintessentially German design is secure and efficient and has already won awards.
Great design for on and off road
With its standard pannier racks, lighting system and mudguards, combined with the 500Wh battery the Haibike SDURO Trekking 9.0 2018 Mens Electric Trekking Bike is designed to go the distance. With stiffer Suntour forks the electric bike is designed to take a bit of extra weight on a longer route.
For off road (and Britain’s ever growing pothole population) it has 27.5”, fatter Schwalbe tyres to absorb the bumps and deal with looser or wetter ground.
The Shimano XT, 11-42t gearing system provides great ratios that can enable you to go fast on the flat yet handle the climbs without calling on too much battery power as you go. The XT rapid fire shifter provides accurate and fast gear changes, perhaps as you accelerate out of a junction at the lights.
For stopping you have Maguro hydraulic brakes that can control even a tricky descent without overheating, and requires a lot less maintenance than Vee brakes.
Bosch CX system
Limited to 15.5mp/h the Bosch Performance CX crank motor is designed to deliver lots of torque right from the second you push down on the pedal. When commuting this means you can handle busy junctions with greater agility and speed when the lights go green, but it also means that on rougher terrain you can have the power at your feet as you need to go uphill from a flat stretch.
Control of the motor is through the Intuvia controller which with just a couple of clicks can change your power setting through four modes from Eco to High. The Intuvia display can show average speed, distance, and battery level as you go.
The 500Wh battery will give you an excellent range – more than enough for a day in the saddle exploring on your trekking holiday.
