Haibike SDURO HardNine 8.0 2019 Electric Bike
The Haibike SDURO HardNine 8.0 is the best 29er hard tail we have on offer. For enjoying longer rides out in the wilds, you will be thrilled with its components and overall comfort as you go farther afield out there. Its 500 watt hour battery and Bosch Performance CX motor allows for easier climbs too!
HardSeven vs HardNine
What size wheel do you prefer? The 27.5” wheel can handle tricky trails better while the 29” wheel is more of a cross country purist. Simply, the HardNine is the 29er and the HardSeven is the 27.5 wheeled electric mountain bike.
8.0, 4.0, 5.0…
Haibike categorise their bikes with the more expensive and better kitted out bikes at the higher numbers and less expensively equipped bikes at the lower end. This machine will allow you to tackle those harder routes that some traditional MTB riders whisper about in awe!
SDURO vs XDURO
In recent years Haibike have decided to make it easy for the rider to choose between its lines of electric bikes. The XDURO series is for people who take riding seriously and won’t want to be left out in the rankings. Meanwhile the SDURO series is for those who may still be fit as a fiddle but are more weekend mud warriors than people who eat, sleep and breathe riding.
Who’s the SDURO HardNine 8.0 for?
You’re the sort of rider who may have felt limited by the traditional mountain bike and want to see more on longer rides without necessarily spending half your life building your fitness to get there. With its top end components this electric mountain bike will make the toughest MTB XC routes an absolute breeze.

The 11 speed Sram, 11-42t drivetrain has all the ratios you need to take on the gnarliest climbs yet blast along the rough stuff without asking too much of your legs as you go. This is controlled with a rapid-fire shifter system, which works with the Bosch Performance CX motor to allow perfect gear changes just when you need them.
The 100mm travel, RockShox Sektor RL air lockout front shocks work with the 29 inch wheels to absorb the lumps and bumps. With a flick of a switch you can move between settings on the forks for climbs, hard and rough terrain.
Slowing down and stopping is with Tektro Orion M745 hydraulic brakes on a 203mm front rotor and a 180mm rear rotor. The bulk of your braking power goes through the front wheel and this designed with that in mind.
The Schwalbe Nobby Nic Evo tyres are mounted on Rodi Tryp 35 29 inch rims for a comfortable ride on whatever surface you chuck at this machine. The aluminium 6061 frame is built around the optimal geometry for longer XC rides on a 29er machine.
500 watt hour battery, Bosch Performance CX and Purion display.
Your 500 watt-hour battery will give you a good 50-60 miles of mixed terrain riding – a lot more if you put more into the pedals and ask less of the motor! Batteries are easily swapped out using a special key so for a big day in the saddle you might want to carry another. They can be charged in just 2 hours using the supplied fast charger.
The 250W Bosch ePerformance CX is built with the trails in mind. It gives a little extra power at lower cadences for when you need that extra kick to get up to speed, while cutting out briefly during a gear change to protect the chain as you need to kick a little harder on those climbs. With a peak output of 75Nm of torque (up to 300% the wattage you put into the pedals) you can really shift when you need to, too!
This is controlled through the Bosch Purion control system. This gives a range of data to you the rider, from estimated battery on a given power setting to distance left on that setting, as well as speed and distance covered. It really is all you need for a fun day out in the hills! With power just a click of the left thumb and the other data available with an easy to use thumb-joystick you can focus on riding not faffing about with the system!
