Forme Electric Bikes – Formed By The UK
Looking for an E-Bike, regardless of your ability & health, you’re probably looking for something to take the burn out of the steep inclines or perhaps need some help getting going, but don’t want to completely eliminate that traditional bike feeling (& the sense of achievement that comes with it!)
The Forme range seems to cover all corners of the wheel, so to speak. At one end of this very refined, well designed stick you have comfort, versatility & practicality – at the other you have prestigious engineering & serious, specialist bits of kit!
We’re excited to stock a range of the Forme family’s E-Bikes!
Let’s look at a few of them – The Peak Trail 1 ELS, & Peak Trail 2 ELS batting for the practical & versatile corner, & the Thorpe E Carbon playing the serious, fast & competitive role.
Top Forme – Anyone, Anywhere.
The Forme Peak Trail 1 ELS and Peak Trail 2 ELS ladies hybrid electric bikes carry a charming ‘Chameleon’ ethos, adapting to whichever branch it may be perched on, (or whatever terrain you may come across on your journey).
BOSCH!
The Bosch crank drive system in both machines boasts 63NM torque (turning power), that’s, for example a world away from the average 40NM you’d expect from a Bafang motor, for instance. The system give’s back what you put in – so the more pressure you apply, the more assistance you receive – in-turn, distributing the power efficiently & effectively.
Now, it goes without saying that you won’t be buying these machines for the same reason you’d buy a Dutch style sit-up-and-beg machine with a pretty basket and panniers for example. You’ll likely be after a machine that maybe breaks your comfort zone metaphorically & geographically, perhaps across terrain you wouldn’t have considered before – before returning to the country lanes to hit the Pub for a well-deserved re-fuel!
You may have concerns with the quoted battery range provided by Forme, but fear not – loss of range is made up for in weight saving, allowing you to keep up a higher average pace & self-suffice until the going gets a little too tough. Further-more, it’s not un-common to reach speeds exceeding 25Km/h which cuts off the power, meaning you only consume the battery power when you need it most.
For the time being, buy the Peak Trail 1 ELS Ladies electric bike for £876 off the list price and the Peak Trail 2 ELS Ladies electric bike for just £1249 – Pretty impressive for a Bosch Crank Drive System!
Thorpe-E Electric Road Bike – The Featherweight Carbon Beast
The Peak District based UK cycle manufacturer have gone all out with this Carbon Electric Road Bike, engineered & refined to produce a responsive, agile but somehow powerful machine capable of giving any cyclist the calves of an Olympian. – of course, if calves contained battery cells!
With a seamless Carbon frame and fork, the Forme Thorpe E Carbon Electric Road Bike is a serious road riding machine which, until seen up close or ridden, could pass as a traditional road bike. Considered featherweight in the E-Bike world, the Thorpe’s electric running gear only weighs 4.6KG – situated for the most part in the center of the bike creating optimal weight distribution & handling.
Said running gear is covered by a FAZUA Evation 250w Crank Driven System, capable of 400w of assistance spread over 4 modes of power. Cycling Industry News, upon the bike’s release last July wrote “the Thorpe E uses the Fazua Evation system, one of the quietest, lightest and most compact systems on the market.” & we think you’d agree.
Much like the Bosch system seen on the Peak Trail series, the FAZUA will only supply power under 25KM/h which, let’s face it, the average cyclist will exceed for the majority of their journey – giving the Thorpe E the potential to be as efficient as an Electric bike can be.
Though Forme claim that you can get about 30 miles per charge, an expert reviewer claims he had just under half the battery range left from a typical 52 mile ride on a FAZUA drive system strapped to a similar machine thanks to his economical use of the power system – suggesting Forme perhaps have been under-selling themselves in their claims.
You’ve probably sussed it, there’s a discount involved here! If this has piqued your interest, you’ll be very pleased to know we’ve slashed £500 from the Thorpe’s sell price, currently on sale at £3499.
Of course, these models are a testament to the companies engineering & versatility, but do check out the rest of the range we have currently available on our site.
